OUR 20TH ANNUAL PERFORMANCE!

2022 JUNE SHOW

6/15 - 6/18

Celebration

WHAT IS OUR SHOW?

Each June, we have a year-end recital held at the Carlmont Performing Arts Center.

Dance is a performance art and the experience and confidence that dancers gain from performing on stage is invaluable. Participating in the recital gives dancers a chance to show everyone their hard work and dedication in classes throughout the dance year. It is a truly exciting and rewarding experience for both dancers and families!

TIMELINE + WHAT TO EXPECT

JANUARY/ FEBRUARY show prep begins!

Dancers will learn the show theme, hear their show song and see pictures of their costume(s) in class this month! We measure dancers the first week of classes for costumes and begin to teach choreography.

Costume fees will be charged to the card on file after Feb 5th. *All non-participants must decline to participate before February 5 to avoid recital charges*  Pictures of the costumes for each class will be posted in the portal. Why so soon if the show isn't until June?  Costumes are made to order and must be ordered early in the year to ensure they will arrive in time for costume week in May!

Thinking about adding or switching classes? Now's your chance! Registration closes February 6.

APRIL parent volunteers

Parent Volunteer Sign Up

It is impossible to put on a successful performance without our amazing volunteers! Some examples of volunteer positions include chaperones (for Pre/Mini, Jr + level I classes), ushers, door monitors, backstage monitors, lobby tables, etc. We will have a sign-up list with descriptions and time frames in the portal and will send out an email when sign up is ready.

All volunteers receive access to purchase tickets 1 week prior to the general public!

Chaperones, Ushers + Backstage Monitors may watch their dancer perform free of charge during the shows they volunteer for.

MAY ticket sales + costume week

Tickets go on sale early May

The theatre is assigned seating and this year, with a lower maximum capacity.

Anyone who watches the show must purchase a ticket.

Costume Week! Mid-May

A super exciting time for dancers, and parents too! Dancers get to try on their costumes in class, run their dance wearing them, and take them home for safe keeping. Costumes should be kept neatly hung in a safe space, and remain unworn until picture day / show time. For dancers under age 10, a parent or guardian is asked to attend the last 30 minutes of class during costume week for costume instructions.

Dancers who do not participate in the show are recommended to miss this one class during costume week.

JUNE it's show time

Picture Day! early June

We hire professional and skilled photographer, Jeff Bartee each year for picture day. He takes amazing shots of our dancers and performances. Picture day sign up and information will be sent out once details are confirmed. Jeff Bartee will also photograph the dress rehearsal and/or some of the performances. See images and gallery below for some previous picture day and performance photos!

Last week of classes! June 6-11

This is the last week of class before the show. Dancers may not be absent this week as class will mostly be devoted to show prep. It is also important to be present for weeks leading up to the show.  Dancers who do not participate in the show will end classes in May.

Show time! June 16-18

All dancers must attend the mandatory dress rehearsal and all shows they are scheduled to perform in. We will go over the dress and show process in more detail once we are closer to the date. Information will be posted on the website and emailed to families.

*These images were taken prior to 2020. Masks will be required*
