2020 SHOW DATES
WHAT IS OUR SHOW?
Each June, we have a year-end recital held at the Carlmont Performing Arts Center. Starting in January, we begin preparation for our annual performance. We measure dancers the first week of classes for costumes and begin to teach dancers choreography in routines that they will perform in the show. Participation in the show is optional, dancers who choose not to participate in the show may still attend classes.
Dance is a performance art and the experience and confidence that dancers gain from performing on stage is invaluable. Participating in the show gives dancers a chance to be able to show everyone what they have been working hard on the whole year. It is truly an exciting and rewarding experience for both parents and dancers!
The following classes do not perform in the show: Dance Discovery, Conditioning, & Pre-Pointe
Attend classes January through June
Too many missed classes may result in not performing in the show.
Attend the mandatory dress rehearsal and all shows that you are scheduled to perform in. The schedule is TBD.
Pay Costume Fee by late January (exact date is TBD)
The costume fee covers all costumes, tights and accessories – dancers are responsible for their own shoes, please see our dress code for required shoes.
Costume fees are non-refundable, as costume companies do not allow returns.
ADDITIONAL DATES AND INFORMATION
Parent Information Night – January (exact date TBD)
This will be an informative meeting for those parents new to the HeartBeat Show, and those looking for more information on the whole production. Parents will be able to ask questions, view the costume for their dancer’s routine, and make costume payments in the office. We encourage all new parents to attend this meeting, returning HeartBeat parents are welcome as well!
Costume Week – Sometime in Mid-May (exact dates TBD)
Dancers get to try on and take home their costumes. For dancers under age 10, please have a parent or guardian attend the last 30 minutes of class for costume instructions.
Volunteers – Receive access to purchase tickets 1 week prior to the general public!
It is impossible to put on a successful performance without our amazing volunteers! Some examples of volunteer jobs include chaperoning, ushering, door monitoring, helping backstage, etc. In February, we will have a sign-up list with detailed descriptions and time frames.
Tickets go on sale in May – the theater is assigned seating. Anyone who watches the show must purchase a ticket. Volunteers who are chaperoning, ushering or helping backstage may watch their dancer perform free of charge at the show they are working.
